Asheville NC Ribbon Cutting with Devil’s Foot Beverage
General Informatics and Devil's Foot Beverage Company celebrate recent Ribbon Cutting with the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce
ASHEVILLE, NC
General Informatics, an IT managed services provider and network infrastructure company, is excited to celebrate its expansion to Asheville, NC and membership to the Asheville Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon cutting. The Asheville Chamber of Commerce hosted the ribbon cutting for General Informatics alongside Devil’s Foot Beverage Company, the Asheville-based craft soda maker. The ribbon cutting took place at The Mule, Devil’s Foot Beverage’s new craft-inclusive taproom and production facility, on October 27.
Local government representatives and the Asheville business community participated in the ribbon cutting, which featured hors d’oeuvres and complimentary craft beverages. Following the ribbon cutting, The Mule opened to the public celebrating its official grand opening with music, food, and many from the Asheville community.
General Informatics, formerly known as Versiant Corporation, is locally based in Charlotte, NC, with 9 office locations to date.
In 2021, Versiant Corporation was acquired by General Informatics as a part of their growth initiative. This partnership has allowed the team continue to grow their geographic reach, including a more established presence in Asheville, and grow its services portfolio to ultimately better serve the needs of their customers.
General Informatics is one of the fastest growing managed IT services providers in the Southeast, with domain expertise in manufacturing and logistics, healthcare, government agencies, schools, and financial services. General Informatics helps clients enjoy momentous growth through innovations in technology and service delivery.
“We are really excited to invest in the Asheville business community and support their complex IT needs,” says Jenn Fisher, Director of Business Development at General Informatics, who will be supporting the Asheville area. “One of the first ways we are going to do this is offering free IT consultations to members of the Asheville Chamber of Commerce.”

“We’ve needed more production space for a long time, just to keep up with the growing demand for our farm-to-can craft beverages. And we’ve always wanted to have a customer-facing location where people could come and engage with our company – or just hang out, pick up a case or a six-pack, and taste our craft soda and seasonal offerings on tap. Having this space will also help us share our story – we work with what we call the whole-fruit life, from meeting with farmers to sourcing the fruit all the way to rehoming the byproducts of the brewing process. We’re producing a ton of lime and lemon zest, and we now have several brewery partners locally who buy our frozen zest products and spent fruit for some awesome collaboration beers. We want to focus on sustainability in every step of the brewing process, and The Mule will be the workhorse of that commitment to truly do good through business.”
Ben Colvin, Devil's Foot Beverage Company
Located at 131 Sweeten Creek Rd., The Mule features a full-service bar showcasing seasonal craft sodas, craft cocktails and mocktails, and other locally made beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) to offer a full range of craft beverage options.
Customers will also be able to purchase cans and cases of Devil’s Foot directly from the taproom. The large, open-layout taproom is part of the new 14,400 sq.-ft production facility for Devil’s Foot, which will allow the craft soda maker to triple production and grow distribution throughout the Southeast. The Mule will also serve as an event space, available both for private events and for community events hosted by the non-profit partners of Devil’s Foot. Onsite parking for the taproom is abundant, with over 100 spaces, and outdoor seating is in the works for Spring 2023.
We’re beyond excited to open The Mule at this location, especially alongside a longtime Asheville family-owned business, Daniels Graphics,” says Ben Colvin, co-founder and president of Devil’s Foot Beverages.
